I’ve heard the word before but I have to say that I was unaware that it is also a chemical in the human body used to break down food. A recently publish study also shows that it may also play a role in autism. The article is entitled “Autism: Birth Hormone May Control Expression of the Syndrome in Animals” over at Science Daily.

There is also another article on the study entitled “Diuretic May Treat Autism, Study in Rodents Suggest” by Laura Sanders at Science News but unfortunately, the complete article is unavailable. For a brief synopsis of it and a link to the study, click here.

Okay, I just found another article on that study over at the Autism Speaks website entitled “A Potent Diuretic as Autism Treatment“? Check it out.
