Girls and autism and aspergers

So tonight I have an article to post that talks not only on the differences in boys and girls with autism but also with aspergers. It’s entitled “What are the Signs of Autism in Girls-Is Asperger’s in Girls Overlooked?” and comes from Autism Parenting Magazine.

With asperger’s now falling under the category of autism in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders or DSM-V manual, it’s an intriguing article to say the least.

  1. I definitely think Aspergers in girls is often overlooked because it presents somewhat differently than in boys. In girls it tends to seem less disruptive, and as the saying goes, the squeaky wheel gets the grease.
