Why

So tonight’s post goes back to one I wrote entitled Anxiety, depression and music. I’ve been listening to the song Why by Rascal Flatts for a lot these past few days but that’s what I do sometimes with songs I like.

The last song I use to listen to a lot that reminded me of my daughter was Just Fishin’ by Trace Adkins. My how time flies but I have confidence we’ll get back there.

Anxiety, depression and music

So after I my recent post on my daughter and her struggles, I came across this article entitled  “30 songs That Have Helped People with Anxiety and Depression at Night” by Haley Quinn over at The Mighty. I’ve already listened to Why by the Rascal Flatts several times tonight. For me at least, music has always helped me going through a rough time.

Autism in the family

I guess sometimes it’s hard to see how even when only one child or adult may actually have autism, it affects everyone in the family. Parents, siblings, grandparents and even extended family. Tonight I found out how much it’s affects my daughter.  So tonight is a night to reflect on how I can help her.

Back in the day

So this article about a letter from a mother to her autistic son doesn’t necessarily relate to me in regards to their relationship, it does take me back. In fact I just realized tonight I’ve been writing this blog for nearly ten years now.

At the time, my son and I were early on in our journey. So in honor of those ten years and for all mothers and fathers of sons or daughters with autism, this letter is for you. It’s entitled “A Letter to my Son with Autism” by Kristen Williams over at The Mighty. We should all write a letter to our child.

Sincerely-
