Girls and autism and aspergers

So tonight I have an article to post that talks not only on the differences in boys and girls with autism but also with aspergers. It’s entitled “What are the Signs of Autism in Girls-Is Asperger’s in Girls Overlooked?” and comes from Autism Parenting Magazine.

With asperger’s now falling under the category of autism in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders or DSM-V manual, it’s an intriguing article to say the least.

Mind experiment

This is definitely a topic that needs to be not only discussed but addressed, mental health. In my case I’m talking about a couple of my kids and anxiety. If you want free counseling and therapy, apparently England is the place to be.

This according to the article entitled “Mind Experiment by Benedict Carey over at the New York Times. Well worth the read.

Who knew (I certainly didn’t) that I would now talk about someone else who passed away last year. I think in part because I never knew she was an advocate for people with mental illness.

The article is entitled “The Big Shoes Carrie Fisher Left Us to Fill” by over at The Mighty. As the author states, we all need to Carrie on because if we don’t, who will?

Thank you Carrie!
