Christmas gifts

My mom called me last night to tell me that on the way to taking my oldest to work, he was telling her what he had gotten so far for Christmas gifts and she just wanted to let me know how impressed she was in him for all the thought he was putting into these gifts. He truly enjoys the gift of giving.

An unexpected gift

So while I must admit that the last week or so has felt incredibly rewarding when I started cleaning my bedroom, when my oldest also decided to follow my lead by cleaning his own bedroom, I couldn’t have been more proud of him. In fact, it’s motivated me to keep on going even more. I can’t wait to see what happens next.

Thanksgiving

So today I take another step in my relationship with my middle child, who is transgender. When we go over to my mom’s house for Thanksgiving, he’s going to bring his partner along. So it’ll be, him and his partner, my two other sons, my mom and I.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Birthday party

So the other day my oldest son went to a birthday party for his best friend. They went down to an arcade to play games. He also gave him a present that we actually got for his friend last Christmas but, unfortunately, we forgot to give. They got to play games like Pac-man and have some pizza. All in all, I think he had a pretty good time.

Birthday dinner

So on my birthday, my mom, my oldest and I went out for a birthday dinner at a place we don’t normally have dinner at called Panera Bread Company. I have to say it was really nice, just the three of us. My mom does so much for the both of us. I know it and I’d like to think my oldest knows too, how lucky we are.

Thanks Nana!

Another birthday for me

So today I will celebrate another birthday, this one with two of the most influential people in my life these days, my oldest son and my mom. As to what I’m going to give myself for a gift, I think it’s easy. One, to get back to working on my retirement paperwork with my mom’s financial person and two, to finish up my oldest son’s medicaid paperwork. Safe to say, it’s sort of a belated gift.

Two for two

So yesterday it was his teeth that he was worried about. Today it was a computer problem he’d been having on his tablet. When I came home from work today however, he was on his computer and somehow the issue he was having on his tablet wasn’t happening on his computer. Then, when he went to get his tablet a little later, whatever he did on his computer fixed the issue on his tablet. I still can’t believe it.

Dentist

So while I was busy getting some cleaning and organizing done in my bedroom over theweekend, my oldest decided to once again surprise me, this time by asking to go see a dentist. It wasn’t because he had a sore tooth or anything, he said he just wanted to make sure his teeth are clean. Where that came from, I have no idea but, it’s something we can definitely do.

A quiet week

Maybe that’s why I’m feeling so tired. Nothings really happened. Maybe it’s the fact that I’ve been able to just relax and not worry so much. It’s not that I have nothing to do, it’s just I’ve had a chance to catch up with life.

Tomorrow I need to take the next step in a job I’m applying for. Then I’ll going to look for some Medicaid paperwork that I have somewhere to try and fill out later. After that, we’ll see.
