Explaining autism

I have a friend, that every once in a while, will send me a video or an article on autism as she knows my oldest son is autistic. Today she sent me a link to a very simple video she found on Facebook that helps to explain what autism is.

It’s an animated video entitled “Autism Explained Well” over at My Gladiolus. While I’m not familiar with the website, I think it’s one of those videos that is simple and really could be helpful for anyone. To my friend, I say thank you.

Sincerely-

What the world needs now…

Is more kids like Alex Jackman (and as the song goes… love sweet love). I think in a way this is a great article to follow up my previous post on siblings but this isn’t just for siblings, it’s for everyone. We all need to get out there and get involved.

The article is entitled “The Autism Activicst” by Sandy Fernandex over at the Scholastic magazine Choices. The way we do this is one person at a time.

Sincerely-

Make it stop

Okay, I saw this video a while ago and I really liked it. It was put out by the National Autistic Society and I think it’s really well done. It’s entitled “Make it Stop”. Like all parents of someone with autism, each individual is different but I think this video gives people a small slice of insight into what those with autism struggle with on perhaps a daily basis.

Sincerely-
